Voice sketches…

While I work, I like to listen to artists and writers talking about their lives and motivations (mostly podcasts and interviews). It’s a thing I have been doing for years now. At some point their disembodied voices became a language of texture and colour and movement between my ears and my hands. The images that follow are really just studies. Traces of what formed in the drift, from a place where language no longer mattered.

Particles…

Small marks accumulate across the page. Typewriter strikes, ink, colour pencil.

Sometimes the small details of a stroll or a conversation gather meaning only in hindsight. Fragments that later assemble into something coherent.

These drawings follow the same logic.
