What I do.
I make things from noticing and listening.
Words. Images. Collages. Zines. Stitch work. Collections of things.
I take the unexpected path. Following strange little trails through archives and abstract ideas. Finding something forgotten and bringing it into conversation with now.
Sometimes that means writing. Sometimes, collecting inspiration through images, poetry and video. Other times playing with abstract ideas and finding playful, thoughtful and unexpected ways to give them some form.
I work across disciplines because inspiration doesn’t stay in one place.
If you have something you want to explore, make, shape, write, gather or bring into the world, there are lots of ways we might work together.
Ways we could work together.
Words
A piece of writing. A poem. Something for a place, project or publication. Or help finding the words for something that isn't quite there yet.
Images
Photography, visual research, image making. Looking closely at a place, object or idea and finding a way to show it.
Paper things
Collage, zines, small editions of handmade booklets, artist books. Things to hold, unfold, feel, keep.
Collections
Curating images, objects, words, references, artists and ideas. Finding the unexpected relationships between them.
Research
Old books. Archives. Images. History. The things you find when you stop looking for the obvious answer.
Ideas
A thought that needs somewhere to go. A project that hasn't found its shape. Playing, gathering, researching and following the thread until something begins to emerge.
Something else entirely
This is perhaps the most important one. You don't need to arrive with a neatly packaged brief. Bring me the question, the hunch, the odd thing you've been thinking about.
