3rd Tsuyukusa Gathering.

£25.00

Tsuyukusa is a delicate blue dayflower that appears with Japan's rainy season. It grows wild and is fleeting by nature, opening in the morning and beginning to wither by early afternoon. I can only work with it in this brief, tender window, while the flowers are still rising and opening into the light. By summer, their time ends, and the plants will begin to fold themselves back into the earth.

I gather the flowers in the late morning and work with them directly from the plant. The marks are made using only the flower itself. Nothing is fixed with chemicals or sealants. As part of this entirely natural process, the work remains sensitive to light and will continue to change over time. Its colour will shift according to the environment in which it is displayed.

This is an original work, not a print. Each piece is individually created by hand and is numbered, signed, and dated.

Created on smooth 235 g/m² cotton paper.
A4 (21.0 × 29.7 cm).
